Banding Together's goal is simple, to bring hope and support to the individuals of the RDC, by providing them the daily necessities which are otherwise unavailable, many of which are taken for granted in other countries.

Kinshasa alone is drowning in street children and AIDS orphans, kids left to fend for themselves in situations that are almost impossible.  Currently it is thought that Kinshasa is host to more than 1.5 million AIDS orphans alone, meaning that o out of every 6 people in the city is an orphan, left to provide for themselves, unable to attend school, eat and stay healthy because they cannot work for the money to do so.

Unlike many kids, these WANT to learn.  The desire is so strong to change they place they are in they are begging to attend school, even if a family cannot afford it.  With the average income sitting close to $30 per month, and with a minimum of 4 kids per family, the average cost of school is unattainable. $200 a year is all that it cost to send a child to school, but it is so far off for many families that the kids begin working at young ages, leading them to be in the same position they parents were in.  This circle is hard and one that must be broken.
