The RDC is a country ravaged by Disease and war. From 1998 to the end of 2004, the country
suffered throughwhat is known as the Great African War. Said to be superseded by only WWII, the RDC
suffered casualties over 5.3 million people through civil war alone.
Supplies
and health needs that the USA
takes for granted are in short or no supply within the RDC. Due to decades of war, genocide and rape,
many have been affected without the proper treatment needed to recover. We have partnered with many organizations to
provide basic medical supplies to the local centers within the RDC, bringing
supplies that they either cannot get or afford, allowing them to provide they
best treatment to their communities as possible.
The
number one killing disease and most seen illness in any center is Malaria, one
that is so very easily prevented through the use of Mosquito nets. This disease is very treatable but due to the
commonality, it has become the leading killer within the RDC, taking more lives
than any other illness or war.
